VANESSA SHEMANDER HON
Haiku (I Wondered Lonely As A Cloud)
The poem picked is by William Wordsworth, I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud. The first stanza is most characteristic of the poem, especially the first line.
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
The book aims to emphasise loneliness and a slight reinterpretation of the last two sentences of the first stanza.
